Our visit with Wanda Brunstetter and her illustrator, Phil Smouse, went very well. Wanda and her husband, and Phil and his wife, had been in the Lancaster area for about two weeks. They joined us on July 2 for a children's event. Being a ventriliquist, Wanda opened the program with "Solomon" talking with her and Phil. Wanda then read the first chapter from her latest children's book The Wisdom of Solomon Lapp while Phil drew pictures from the story. Children and adults alike enjoyed her story followed by a question and answer time. We learned alot about what it takes to write and illustrate a book. Some of Wanda's latest books were available to purchase and many had them signed by Wanda and Phil. The two pictures that Phil sketched will be framed and displayed in the library.
